“The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time.” — Abraham Lincoln

I am somewhat of a productivity addict, and honestly, I hate it when a day goes by and I hadn't done something for my future self, or where I slacked off, for me that day just feels off.

and throughout the years, I feel like this piled up and I have developed a toxic relationship with it, for instance, last year I used to work 24 /7 and not just work but being productive, pushing myself harder and harder and I am not saying this is a bad thing but as time went by something very important slipped from my mind and that's my own personal life, when you work 24/7 it becomes easier to lose that balance between work and your personal life and that's when I decided to change things around, and set new rules like

“your body deserves to rest”, “set your day in such a way you don’t have to feel guilty when you go to bed about how unproductive you were and at the same time you don’t go there like a zombie(from how much work you have done)”, and starting from there I started doing some changes to my daily routine and honestly, this is changing my life.

and these are some tips I personally follow that might help you set your day in the right way :

  1. make your to-do list realistic: we all tend to write down millions of tasks in there and I don't know about you but this act itself use to make me feel like I am doing something but by the end of the day I will feel so unmotivated about how little I have achieved
  2. set time for productive procrastination so, you can assure in this way that you don't spend your time idly and forget about the task at hand,
  3. set two to three big goals for the day and do them first thing in the morning,
  4. take it one day at a time the world is moving and even though you might not notice it you are also moving forward even if it is a little and this will add up eventually to something big, “The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time.” — Abraham Lincoln
  5. you are allowed to rest, it is so simple yet sometimes we all tend to forget this, your body needs to get off-grid sometimes, just make sure you don't stay there for too long
  6. being productive and doing stuff is fun you don't have to make it so hard and burn yourself out.

and that's it, I hope this helped.
