How to Plan Your Month (effectively)
and get things done
A month is a great opportunity to try whole a lot of new stuff and new strategies, to work on an idea, but how do you approach it, it is by laying the foundational grounds first that will enable you to achieve what you set out to do in the first place so let's break it down.
First prior to anything you need to know where you are at, what have you achieved thus far after all it is by looking through our past that we can determine what's ahead, so you take out a pen and paper the thing that will probably change your life and review your last month, and you start by asking:
- Where did I spend most of my time, money, and energy this past month?
- What did I accomplish last month? If there were some specific goals you accomplished write the time it took you to achieve them, what helped you to achieve those stuff?
- What was I procrastinating this whole month? and why (you can read “How to Finally Defeat Procrastination” if you don't know why)
- What were some of the highlights in that month
- Things you are proud of or milestones you have had in this past month
and lastly
- What do I need to improve for next month?
and now you just did a brain dumping it might overwhelm you so usually I take a break by cleaning the house or doing a quick stroll in the street, just make sure this doesn't last more than 20 min.
and now you start
SETTING GOALS:
You are about to do another brain dumping write down the main goals you will like to achieve this month it is preferred you set 3 -5 main goals and 2 -3 mini goals, organize them, and then set a schedule for them I prefer using notion to do this I would recommend you to do so too, block out how much time it will take you to achieve each and every one of them,
and now take another break but make sure it is less than 10 min
Weekly Outlines:
Basically what you need to do is to create your ideal week and then outline a chunk by chunk of your plan and know exactly how you gonna make it work, you need to decide what you want to make time for every day and then simply do it, there is no shortcuts remember don't expect it to happen if you don't write “on 12 Thursday of this month at 5 to 10 a.m I am gonna do this and this because I have to achieve that specific goal which I outlined for this month” I hope you are with me. and if you want to know how to exactly break it down you can read “How To Plan Your Week (Effectively)”
If you don’t plan it, don’t expect it to happen
Habit Tracking:
Finally, to ensure you are truly following through with the plan you track your habits and you make sure you are doing your daily tasks and weekly tasks by auditing your calendar.

Reward yourself:
One last thing is By the end of each month, you need to give yourself a reward for how far you have come and make sure it is a big one.
